Compare the Honda Civic
to the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Altima

See How the Honda Civic Compares to the Toyota Corolla and the Nissan Altima.

If you are in the market for a small sedan, chances are the Honda Civic has come to mind. Every Honda Civic model is loaded with features you never knew you needed, such as Honda Sensing®. Other competitors like the Toyota Corolla and the Nissan Altima can't keep up with the innovative Civic. At Ciocca Honda of Williamsport, our team will show you why the Honda Civic is the better choice. We want you to consider a variety of factors before making your final decision.

Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla

Performance: The Honda Civic is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine that provides 158 horsepower and delivers 138 pound-feet of torque. The Corolla is powered by a 1.8-Liter four-cylinder engine that only pumps out 139 horsepower with 126 pound-feet of torque. The new Honda Civic also offers a turbocharged powertrain, capable of delivering 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. The Corolla can't match this engine capability.

Interior Space: The Honda Civic has more front headroom, front legroom, and more front shoulder room when compared to the Toyota Corolla. As for trunk space, the Civic boasts 14.8 cubic feet of trunk space. The Toyota Corolla only offers 13.1 cubic feet of cargo space, making it a little less convenient for your storage needs.

Safety Features: You'll find Honda Sensing® with the Civic and Toyota Safety Sense™ with the Corolla, but the Civic offers its package at a more affordable price. This package includes features like Traffic Jam Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition System - both features are missing from the Corolla lineup.

Exterior Dimensions: The Civic is inches shorter than the Corolla, making it easier to maneuver and park.

Honda Civic vs Nissan Altima

Efficiency: The Honda Civic sedan is the more economical approach for drivers who spend more time driving around the city. The Altima is the less ideal option, meaning you'll need to spend more time filling up than you would in the Civic.

Exterior Style and Design: The Civic lineup comes in coupe, sedan, and hatchback body styles. Unfortunately, you won't find a coupe or a hatchback version of the Nissan Altima. The Honda Civic is also much lighter and slimmer than the Altima, making the Civic easier to handle while driving and parking.

Interior Space: When it comes to passenger space, the Civic has slightly more front headroom, more rear headroom, and more rear legroom than the Nissan Altima.

Safety Features: On the safety side, you will find standard Honda Sensing® with the Civic and Nissan Safety Shield with the Altima. The Civic offers the same package of features at a much less expensive price than the base Altima model, and it offers Traffic Jam Assist, which you can't find in the Nissan Altima lineup.

Technology: The Honda Civic features HondaLink®, which makes it easy to start your engine from a distance, get vehicle notifications, and set up service appointments. You won't find the same convenience from the Nissan Altima lineup at the same affordable price that the Civic offers. Both models are also standard with a seven-inch touchscreen, but the Honda Civic can also feature a nine-inch touchscreen - the Altima can only go up to eight inches of screen size.
